Painting any Kitchen

We have a saying at RefurbYourKitchen, "We can paint any existing kitchen", and it's true.

This is a multi stage process through to the standard eggshell finish. This will vary for special finishes, antiquing, dragging etc., or distressing.

  • We start by using a clear degreasing agent that also acts as the initial primer.
  • A painted primer which varies depending on the original surface.
  • All gaps and cracks filled and caulked.
  • Handles holes filled with two pack filler with a fine surface filler as 2nd and 3rd fills as required
  • Oil based undercoat that is tinted to the colour the kitchen is to be.
  • First coat of eggshell
  • New handle holes drilled.
  • Second coat eggshell.
  • Handles fitted.

During the process all appliance doors are removed, painted and refitted and as part of that refitting we check and realign door hinges and drawers as best as we can.

At various stages the surfaces will be rubbed with either wet and dry or fine finishing paper as appropriate. The optional final stage of this standard process is to apply wax finishing varnish.

Don’t worry about deciding what you need at this stage, I will show the finishes as part of the quoting process.
